Island Breeze Shuttle will provide shuttle, van and private car transportation for performing artists, dignitaries and attendees visiting the festival this year. Galveston is proud of the tradition of the ongoing Jazz Festival and we can’t think of a better location. With the laid back atmosphere of the beach, sun and yet still close to the 4th largest city in the United States, there is something for everyone. We are proud to provide safe, convenient shuttles from airport to hotel and your Houston to Galveston destinations.
The Red Cat Jazz Festival is the largest fundraising event of the Red Cat Jazz Preservation Society. Each year, the festival features international, national, regional, and local Jazz musicians, to help provide scholarships for deserving high school students attend college, kids to participate in our summer workshops, and to provide FREE concerts to hospitals, senior assistant living facilities, elementary, middle and high schools to promote JAZZ education in the community.
Not only is the festival a celebration of music, but it raises much needed funds for The Red Cat Jazz Preservation Society, a 501(c) 3 non-profit corporation which started in 2009 to highlight the importance of maintaining the musical heritage of jazz. Each year, they provide children in our surrounding communities with free musical instruments and music-based college scholarships. All of the Jazz Educational Outreach Programs reach hundreds of elementary, middle and high school students each year throughout Houston and Galveston and the surrounding counties. Our education programs place emphasis on the appreciation of jazz music from a historic and cultural perspective. The organization sponsors four main programs: 1) Jazz Cats Summer Workshops, 2) Red Cat Raising Star, 3) Red Cat in the Air, and the 4) Red Cat Jazz Festival in Galveston, TX.
